Performance for Open House Melbournes , East Gippsland weekend. Curated by Lichen Kelp and performed by Dylan Martorell, (floating sound sculptures activated by motion and weather) and Jannah Quill, electronic composition. The Kayak orchestra is an active spatialised listening environment. Designed to immerse the participants into the natural soundworld of Lake Tyers . Accompaniment by sparse tonal electronic music played through portable speakers embedded in a selection of kayaks and the sound sculptures played by rocks, found objects, cymbals , gongs and drums reacting to the wind and water the aim is for the music to mimic and integrate with the territorial spatialisation of frog and birdcall, splashing mullet, wind and water.
